LIVE BAND WORKSHOPS
ABOUT
Welcome to my Live music workshop for groups of 20-30 young people aged 6+
Perfect for clubs such as scout groups, schools, cadets and youth clubs.
In these workshops children are given the opportunity to experience playing in a real live rock/pop band without the need for any musical knowledge or instrument experience. The children play real instruments including electric guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and sing through a PA system. The instruments are subtly adapted and while following a simple counting system with my guidence the children will recreate smash hit songs there and then. The sessions are dynamic, fast paced and exciting but with a strong focus on learning.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
TEAMWORK
The whole session is based around the children working together as one big team. Everybody needs to focus, keep count and contribute their part in creating the song
CONFIDENCE
Nobody is put on the spot but everybody will learn how their contribution is vital to the music. Budding young singers and rappers are welcome to grab a mic and go wild. while others can feel comfortable sat with an instrument or contributing to the rhythm section.
INSPIRATION
These workshops are a perfect opportunity for children to dive into popular music, have a go on lots of different instruments, experience the buzz of making music with others and maybe even leave inspired to play more music in the future.
MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE
As the workshop progresses the children are taught the important facts about the instruments they're playing. Some practical and historical knowledge, as well as some fundamentals about how popular music works.
